Buy Local competition winner drawn

Hamilton Chamber of Commerce has selected the winner for Christmas in Hamilton’s Buy Local competition.

Congratulations to Megan Lewis, the 2017 winner of Hamilton’s Buy Local competition. Megan submitted her entry after shopping at MacLean’s Booksellers on Beaumont Street. Her response, which read, “I love the mix of people and daily celebration of authentic heart felt culture” was selected for its sincere reflection of Hamilton’s community.

Hamilton Chamber President, Nathan Errington, is proud to see so many people buying locally in Hamilton.

“The positive feedback provided in the responses received shows that people believe Hamilton is the best place to live, work and play,” Mr Errington said.

The competition was a great success with a total of 2,015 responses entered from participating stores in the heart of Hamilton. The most entries recorded for one store was Beaumont Street’s Rainbow Runner with an outstanding 232 entries submitted by customers.

The Buy Local competition ran from 1 December to 21 December as part of the Chamber’s Christmas in Hamilton festivities. The competition gave shoppers who spent $20 or more in one transaction in the Hamilton area a chance to win $500 cash for Christmas. To enter, shoppers expressed in 15 words or less why they love Hamilton.
